The Generac 5735 GP17500E generator is something to think about buying as the colder weather draws near. This gas-powered generator will provide your home with reliable power when the utility fails. Its compact size doesn’t need much room and is easy to move around and its quiet operation, thanks to a low-tone muffler, won’t disturb you or your neighbors.

The Generac 5735 GP17500E gas-powered generator is a durable power supply. When the lights go out, this generator has an electronic start to get it going. Its 17,500 watts of power should be enough for most homeowners’ needs. Its compact size, 48.5 inches by 31 inches by 39.5 inches, makes it easy to move where it’s needed. The generator has lifting handles and pneumatic all-terrain tires too, so you can get it where you need it. The engine is designed to run without stalling. A pressurized lubrication system is a design feature so that it runs smoothly, with oil sent to crucial areas. The pressurized lubrication system does something else too: it allows the engine to use a filter similar to ones found in cars. This filter keeps out unwanted debris and works adjacent to an air filter. The Generac 5735 GP17500E generator’s rugged 16-gallon reservoir gives you 10 hours of continuous operation at 50 percent capacity. There’s a fuel gauge so you know when it’s time for a refill. Generac gives you your first tank of oil as a gift to say thank you for buying the generator.

The Generac 5735 GP17500E gas-powered generator supplies 17,500 watts of power. That’s output watts. The maximum wattage it supplies is 26,500. That’s enough to run a full set of home appliances.

When an unexpected blackout strikes, the power is enough for the kitchen appliances, air conditioner, computers and home security systems. It has construction site uses too; it can power belt sanders, lawn mowers, table saws and more. For camping and outdoor living, the Generac 5735 GP17500E gas-powered generator is great for grills, lights, heat and music. Compatible with American electrical systems, it has an A/C voltage of 120/240 and a frequency of 60 Hertz. The generator has two 120 V outlets, two ground-fault interrupted outlets of 120 V each, one 120 V 30 amp twist-lock outlet, one 120/240 50 amp twist-lock outlet and one 12 VDC battery charger. A circuit breaker protects all outlets to guard against power overloads and protect appliances. The muffler works so well that the noise made by the generator blends into the background. Engine oil, maintenance kit and owner’s manual come with the generator. It weighs about 400 pounds; its shipping weight is close to 450 pounds.

Generac 5735 GP17500E Customer Reviews

Read what real customers of the Generac 5735 GP17500E gas-powered generator have to say on Amazon.com. Wrote one person,

“The generator was easy to assemble, started right up after filling oil reservoir and fueling. I haven’t had a power outage yet since getting this generator (go figure). The only drawback I’ve seen (so far) is the information provided on the available plug receptacles is rather weak. The 50-amp plug is located underneath the panel face where all the other plug receptacles are located. It has a wire ‘latch hook’ to keep the plug from falling out, but no info on how to properly use it. I had difficulty locating the correct male plug with a ‘straight’ out feature since most are 90 degrees. It would have been nice to have the male plug-end supplied with the generator.”

Another customer wrote,

“Once I assembled the generator (took about an hour), it looks impressive. Even thought it weights almost 400lbs, it is well balanced and is easy to move around with the large handle and wheels. After servicing the motor with the provided oil and fresh gasoline, the generator was no problem to start.”

Do know that this generator is not California CARB-compliant, so California residents cannot purchase it. And as mentioned by the first reviewer, having a male plug to clip onto the generator is helpful. Pick up a male plug when you buy the gas-powered generator.

Don’t wait until winter is here already. Go out and buy the Generac 5735 GP17500E gas-powered generator today.
