  • 8-inch flat free tires
  • Briggs & Stratton 1150 Series OHV Engine
  • Provides up to 8 hours of run time at 1/2 load
  • The Briggs & Stratton 30466 is a gas-powered portable generator that comes from a reputed manufacturer of power equipment with over 100 years of experience in the industry. This generator is ideal for in-home use, especially during inclement weather when the power tends to go out. Every passing year, sees an increase in weather-related power outages. From snow storms to hurricanes, changing weather patterns have made owning a portable generator almost a necessity.

    Briggs & Stratton 30466 – The Pros:

The Briggs & Stratton 30466 is a compact, easy-to-use, portable generator that can provide continuous power for up to 8 hours at half load. This portable wonder weighs 135 pounds and is ideal for running home appliances, including refrigerators, televisions, computers and toaster ovens, to name a few. The generator is easy to assemble and can be set up in a matter of minutes. Unlike other generators that require multiple pulls to start them, a smooth pull-start on the B&S 30466 ensures a quick and easy start every time. This generator can be easily moved from one location to another as it comes with a wheel kit that includes 8-inch flat free tires, making its portability more efficient. With 4375 surge watts and 3500 continuous watts, this generator ensures a steady supply of power that will keep most home appliances running for hours.

This little power house comes with its own oil for initial start-up, which can be a huge bonus, especially if you are stuck indoors due to rough weather. A 2 year consumer warranty means that missing or broken parts on the Briggs & Stratton 30466 will be taken care of by the manufacturer. Since this product comes from a reputed manufacturer, finding a service agent for an annual service or tune up will not pose a challenge. An elevated control panel on this generator promises easy access to household outlets, with the added feature of outlet covers for extra protection. The power surge alternator on this generator allows you to simultaneously run a multitude of appliances. Its patented Super Lo-Tone muffler ensures lower noise pollution when compared to other brands in this category.

    Briggs & Stratton 30466 – The Cons:

There have been some complaints about the noise generated by the Briggs & Stratton 30466. This, however, varies from one customer to the next, as each has their own tolerance to noise. While some noise can be expected from any generator, placing the generator to a side of the house where it is not too close to high-traffic rooms is the simplest solution. This generator is great as a power back-up for the home and for powering up general home appliances, but it does not work too well for higher wattage equipment like heating and cooling systems, or other heavy- duty equipment.

    Customer Review:

(Harold G., North Carolina) When we knew that hurricane Irene was headed for the North Carolina coast, I ordered the Briggs & Stratton 30466 anticipating a long power outage. I have not regretted my decision to invest in this compact power house. From assembly to start-up, there were no issues. It even came with its own oil! I was able to keep most of my lights and home appliances running, including a refrigerator, a freezer, a TV and toaster oven for over 48 hours on about 3 gallons of gas, refilling roughly every 8 hours. This generator is loud, but most others in this category are. A must-have if you live in an area prone to inclement weather.
